Toxic Substances Control Act Chemical Export Notification Form

Toxic Substances Control Act Chemical Export Notification Form

Summary

Before exporting Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) regulated chemicals at Harvard, you must:

  1. Search the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Chemical Data Reporting (CDR) database.
  2. If the chemical is not listed in the CDR database, you do not need to submit an export notification.
  3. If the chemical is listed in the CDR database, complete this form and submit it to the EPA. Check the exported chemical's appropriate TSCA section (4, 5, 6, or 7) in the CDR database.
  4. Ensure this form is postmarked within seven days after accepting a definite contractual obligation or reaching a final decision to export the chemical. If export happens less than seven days after the export obligation or agreement was executed, submit the notice to the EPA no later than the same day as the export.
  5. Keep a copy of all export notifications in your lab.
